William Cashmore Hammer Toplever Sidelock 12ga, $5,995

Original 3" Chambers

30" SxS dovetail-lump barrels of Whitworth fluid compressed steel with flat

matted rib and doll's head extension choked improved modified & full. 14

1/2" pull from front trigger to red rubber Old English recoil pad. 1 5/8" - 2"

drop. 1/4" cast-off. Fully figured walnut stock with Anson pushbutton-

release splinter forend, round knob Prince-of-Wales grip, classic point-

pattern checkering, teardrops, and vacant gold escutcheon atop the heel.

Fine scroll engraved receiver with rebounding hammers, percussion fences,

side clips, double Purdey underbites, Westley Richards C-fastener toplever

with maker's name inlaid in gold. Weight: 7lbs, 13oz. In modern leather trunk

case with load card, cleaning rod and tips, broken shell extractor, turnscrew,

extra springs and pins. Action finished bright. 90% barrel and triggerguard

blue. Tight and with excellent bores.

Cogswell & Harrison Sidelock Ejector 12ga, 2 1/2" $3995

25" SxS chopper-lump barrels with smooth concave rib, fine brass bead at

muzzle, finer brass center bead, and passive rib-extension third fastener,

choked improved cylinder and modified. 14 1/2"pull from front trigger to

striated wood butt, 1 1/2" - 2 1/4"drop, 3/8" cast-off. Figured walnut stock

with Anson-pushbutton-release splinter forend, straight English grip,

classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, teardrops and

vacant silver oval. Rose & scroll engraved action with Southgate ejectors

and manual top tang safety. Weight: 6lbs, 7oz. London Nitro proofed for 1

1/8oz. Built 1913. Refinished, but excellent mechanically: mirror bright bores

ring like chimes, Dead tight on the face even with the forend removed,

minimum wall thickness .029 inches, and sound wood. In canvas-covered,

leather-trimmed trunk case.

John Dickson & Son Round Action Hammerless 12ga, 2 3/4" $39,750

Toplever Ejector Cased Pair

29" SxS fluid steel chopper-lump barrels with smooth concave ribs and

nickel-silver front beads, both choked improved cylinder & modified. The

number 1 gun, 15" pull from front trigger to checkered wood butt extension;

the number 2 gun, 14" pull from front trigger to checkered wood butt. Both

guns with 1 5/8" - 2 3/8" drop and a trace of cast-off. Black streaked figured

English walnut stocks with Anson-pushbutton-release splinter forends,

straight English grips, classic point-pattern checkering and vacant initial

ovals. Fine scroll engraved actions with rib-extension third fasteners,

automatic ejectors and automatic top tang safeties with SAFE inlaid in gold.

Weights: Gun 1: 6lbs, 10oz; Gun 2: 6lbs, 8oz. London proofed in 2004. Also

with original pairs of 29" damascus dovetail-lump barrels with 2 1/2"

chambers and London nitro proofed for 1 1/8oz. All components numbered 1

& 2. Gun No.1 built in 1899 and the second added nine months later to make

the pair, both for A. L. Jessop---whose name still appears on the case lid.

Tight, and with excellent bores. All ejectors function properly and in time. In

original oak & leather double trunk case, with recently re-fit interior, and

including turnscrews, cleaning rod and tips, snap caps, oil bottle and

original leather maker's trade label.

Harrison & Hussey, Ltd. Sidelock Ejector 20ga, 2 3/4" $23,950

28″ SxS chopper-lump barrels with smooth concave rib choked cylinder &

modified. 13 5/8" pull from front trigger to perished old Silvers pad. 1 9/16 -

2 1/8" drop. 1/2" cast-off. Fully figured European walnut stock with Anson-

pushbutton-release splinter forend, straight English grip with semi-diamond

hand, teardrops, classic point pattern checkering with mullered borders and

gold oval. Case-hardened, small-frame, sidelock action stocked to the fences

and with gold-line cocking indicators, intercepting sears, automatic ejectors

and automatic top tang safety with SAFE inlaid in gold. Action and

lockplates with fine English rose & scroll engraving. Weight: 5lbs, 9oz.

London nitro proofs for 7/8oz. Built 1923. Fine condition, retaining most of

the original casehardening colors on the lockplates. 98% barrel blue.

Excellent bores. Tight action. Barrels on face and ring like chimes. Ejectors

in time. In maker’s original oak and leather case with brass corners, lined in

scarlet baize, with gold embossed black leather maker's label inside lid,

containing Harrison & Hussey-marked square oil bottle, brass jag, and a wad

of tow.

28" O/U chopper-lump, matted-vent-rib barrels with steel front bead and

Briley interchangeable choke tubes. 14" pull from single-selective trigger to

3/4" solid black Kick-Eez recoil pad. 1 3/8" - 2" drop. No cast. Highly figured

Turkish walnut stock with Anson-pushbutton-release field forend, pistol

grip, and classic point-pattern checkering. Scroll engraved, casehardened,

shallow-frame, detachable-triggergroup action with bifurcated lumps,

bolstered frame, integral sideplates, small triggerguard sized for single trigger and

incorporating action group release, hold-open toplever, manual top tang safety

incorporating barrel selector, "S" inlaid in gold, and with makers name inlaid

in gold on both sideplates. Weight: 6lbs, 5oz. Built 1996. Very little used. In

maker's leather trunk case with trade label and load card..

26" SxS chopper-lump 28ga shotgun barrels with flat matted rib choked

modified & full. 14 3/4"pull from checkered front trigger to leather-faced

Silvers pad. 1 9/16 - 2 3/8"drop. 3/8" cast-off. Holland & Holland signature-

scroll engraved, coin-finished receiver with concealed third fastener, bushed

firing pins, extended top and bottom tangs, built-in recessed folding tang

peep sight, gold-lined cocking indicators and manual top tang safety with

SAFE in gold. Highly figured walnut stock with steel trapdoor pistol grip

cap, Anson-pushbutton-release splinter forend, classic point-pattern

checkering, teardrops and vacant gold oval. Weight: 7lbs, 12oz as a double

rifle; 6lbs, 12oz as a shotgun. Originally built 1910 as a .375 double rifle. Two

sets of barrels, new circa 1975, the shotgun barrels by Holland & Holland

for Abercrombie & Fitch; the double rifle barrels possibly by another,

London proofed 1975. 99%blue. Tight action. Excellent bores. In trunk case

with maker's label.

Masters Gunmakers Ltd Sidelock Special Pigeon Model 12ga, 2 3/4" $11,450

30" SxS barrels with flat matted rib, brass muzzle bead, fine steel middle bead

and 8 Teague interchangeable choke tubes. 14 3/8"pull from front trigger to

solid black recoil pad. Leather-covered, fully adjustable comb. Fully figured

walnut stock by Malcolm Cruxton with engraved steel-capped pistol grip,

beavertail forend with recessed Anson pushbutton release, teardrops and

gold escutcheon bearing monogram of original owner William Freitas.

Acanthus scroll engraved by Johnny Beech with maker's name in gold,

doll's head and active third fastener, bushed firing pins and manual top tang

safety. Double-beaded, long-tang triggerguard inlaid with gold pigeon.

Color casehardening by Ray St. Ledger. Weight: 8lbs, 6oz. London nitro

proofed for 1 1/4oz loads in 1982. Retaining 99% blue, 80% case colors. In

aluminum hard case. Pictured, cover, Sporting Gun Oct 1982. Construction

of this gun discussed extensively in Don Masters' book, The House of

Churchill, pp 464 - 472.

Hammerless Toplever Sidelock

30" SxS dovetail-lump sleeved barrels with smooth concave rib and doll's

head extension choked improved cylinder & improved modified. 14 5/8" pull

from front trigger to brown rubber Decelerator recoil pad. 1 3/4" - 3" drop.

1/4" cast-off. Fully figured walnut stock with Scott's patent pushbutton-

release splinter forend, round knob Prince-of-Wales grip, classic point-

pattern checkering, and vacant gold shield atop the wrist. Finely engraved

receiver with scenes of ducks, geese and egrets. With Scott's spindle third

fastener, Patent crystal cocking indicators, intercepting sears, beaded

fences, and manual top tang safety. Weight: 8lbs, 1oz. Built 1881. 30%

casehardening colors on action. Action finished bright. 99% barrel blue.

Trace of barrel movement with forend removed. Excellent bores. Including a

copy of Crawford & Whatley, The History of W & C Scott, Gunmakers.

drop. 3/8" cast off. Lightly figured English walnut stock with Anson-release

beavertail forend, capped pistol grip, vacant hallmarked gold oval, classic

point-pattern checkering and teardrops. Scroll engraved, casehardened

Anson & Deeley action with automatic top tang safety. Weight: 5lbs, 14oz.

Built 1971. 99%+blue. 99% casehardening colors. Possibly unfired.

Webley & Scott 702 Boxlock Ejector 12ga, 2 3/4" $4,450

28" SxS barrels with flat matted rib choked improved cylinder & full. 14

off. Lightly figured European walnut stock with Anson-release splinter

forend, straight English grip, classic point-pattern checkering, teardrops and

vacant silver oval. Scroll engraved, casehardened receiver with automatic

top tang safety. Weight: 6lbs, 10oz. Built 1969. 99% barrel blue, 90% case

Westley Richards Sidelock Ejector  12ga, 2 3/4" $24,750

sight, choked modified & full. 15 1/4" pull from front trigger to checkered

butt. 1 1/2" - 2 1/16" drop. 1/4" cast-off. Figured European walnut stock with

Anson-pushbutton-release splinter forend, diamond-crosssection straight

English grip, classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders,

teardrops and vacant gold oval. Coin-finished casehardened sidelock

action, engraved by Keith Thomas with gold inlaid hare on left lock and

gold inlaid cock pheasant on right and with maker's name in gold on

underside, serial number in gold on tang, all surrounded with acanthus vine-

leaf scroll. Gold-line cocking indicators, rolled triggerguard and automatic

top tang safety with SAFE inlaid in gold. Weight: 6lbs, 12oz. Built 1978.

99%+ barrel blue. Tight and with excellent bores. In leather trunk case, with

maker's label, load card and Glaser, Zurich retailer's label. Cleaning rod, snap

caps and oil bottle.
