Select Fire
Select Fire switch on an H&K Model 33: S - Safe E - Ein (semi-automatic, repeating) F - Fully automatic (machinegun).
Select Fire - A firearm with a switch allowing a choice of either semi-automatic operation or fully-automatic [machinegun] operation. The State of Connecticut tried to write a law prohibiting machineguns, but they thought they were being sophisticated by using the term Select Fire in stead of the more plebeian Machinegun. Consequently, firearms that operate in fully automatic mode only, are not prohibited in Connecticut.
