 26" round barrel with target block. Highly figured walnut stock with

sculpted ebony forend tip, classic wrap-around point-pattern checkering,

ebony pistol-grip cap with inlaid ivory goose, classic comb with cheekpiece

and hand checkered trapdoor steel buttplate. Mauser action with jeweled bolt and

checkered bolt knob, target blocks, extensively scroll-engraved and flowing four inches

onto the barrel, presumably by Roy Vail (whose rifle this was). Gold RV

flush-inlaid into underside of buttstock. A touch of engraving at the muzzle.

Bottom metal engraved (possibly) by Rudolph Kornbrath and with gold-inlaid

buck on floorplate. 14" pull. Weight: 8lbs, 11oz. 98%blue.   $3975.
