20 1/2" tapered round barrel, gold-banded at breech. Stunning exhibition walnut stock by Darwin Hensley with slender ebony forend tip, classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, inletted and beaded-pedestalled swivel bases, beaded pancake cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap and buttplate. Organic beaded edges outlining bolt handle, ejection port, forend tip and bolt stop. Metalwork by Steve Heilmann including custom extra-kurz Mauser double-squarebridge action with Model 70-type safety, blind rear tang screw, custom shaped trigger and hinged straddle floorplate with release inside triggerguard---pictured prior to engraving in Guns Magazine, July 1996, p51. Two scopes: Leupold Vari-X 3-9x matte-finish Compact with 1-inch tube and Leupold Alaskan 6x with 7/8-inch tube, both with fine duplex reticles and both with engraved and gold-bordered Talley quick-detachable rings fitted without bases directly to machined action squarebridges. Extensively engraved by Sam Welch with fine English rose & scroll and with gold inlaid fox on floorplate, head and shoulders of fox holding a caught rabbit on the grip cap and intricate scroll design on buttplate including vignette of three rabbits in the center panel---signed in microscopic letters on leading edge of floorplate hinge. Pull: 14". Weight: 7lbs, 5oz with blued steel Alaskan scope; 7lbs 2oz with Leupold Compact. New condition. With loading dies and 500 new brass cases. Complete extra stock, below, also by Darwin Hensley with merely figured walnut, also with slender ebony forend tip, inletted and beaded-pedestalled swivel bases, beaded pancake cheekpiece, classic point-pattern checkering with mullered borders, smooth casehardened steel pistol grip cap and buttplate; organic beaded edges outlining bolt handle, ejection port, forend tip and bolt stop.
