24" tapered round Krieger barrel with half-band swivel base and gold detailing at breech. Highly figured walnut stock by Darwin Hensley with ebony forend tip, beaded pancake cheekpiece, skeleton buttplate and pistol grip cap---both checkered within, classic point-pattern wrap-around checkering with mullered borders, inletted and pedestalled rear swivel base, fluted borders around bolt handle, thumbcut and ejection port. Metalwork by Steve Heilmann: Mauser 98 action shortened to 7 7/8" with hinged straddle floorplate, Model 70-type safety, checkered bolt knob, blind rear tang screw and Kepplinger single-set trigger. Leupold Vari-X III 6.5 - 20x matte-finish scope with parallax adjust on custom Conetrol-pattern bases sculptured to receiver and with thin 1-piece rings. Metal finish by Pete Mazur with many fire-blue highlights. Engraved by Eric Gold with stunning raised gold cheetah on floorplate, fine English rose and scroll with gold roses and gold borderlines on grey-etched receiver, bottom metal, buttplate, PG cap, and on blued bolt handle, rings and barrel band. Weight: 8lbs, 14 1/2oz. Pull: 14 1/8". Twist: 1:14. Built 1998. New condition. In Huey oak & leather case with horn-handled turnscrews, brush and cleaning rod, brass oil bottle and patchbox, all made by William Crowley and engraved by Eric Gold. Leather-trimmed canvas overcase.
