Literature: Pictured, American Rifleman Nov 1951, p37:

Provenance:  Built by G&H in 1941. On July 21, 1950 the rifle was consigned for sale at Abercrombie & Fitch by the widow of noted sportsman and trap shooter, Dr. George Henry Martin.

Four days later, it was sold to Mr. Arthur D. Leidesdorf, of New York City, a prominent philanthroper and regular customer of Griffin & Howe, who commissioned the engraving and gold inlay, completed in time for the article and photograph in American Rifleman in 1951, above.

On Oct. 26, 1966 the rifle was consigned for sale at A&F by Mr. Leidesdorf.

Later that year, the rifle was sold to Mr. Mort Swimmer, of Baltimore, Maryland---whose name and monogram still appears on the gold oval.

On October 2, 1972 the rifle was consigned at A&F by Frank Buccino of New Canaan, Connecticut. There was a note in the A&F records that the rifle was engraved by Josef Fugger and included a full length case and dies. Frank Buccino retrieved it on November 3, 1972.

Later, it became part of the Emil McConnell collection, such a knowledgeable collector of Griffin & Howe firearms that when G&H last changed hands, the new owners asked him to deliver a speech to themselves and their employees on the history of the company.  Hallowell & Co purchased it at the Emil McConnell estate sale in in March, 2005.
